I find that when mixing heavy guitars (especially when using amp sims), it’s really easy to lose the aggression and edge that was originally captured. Luckily, there are a few tricks we can do to bring that feeling back to our mixes.<\/p>\n
One of my favorite tricks to add some life back to a lifeless distorted guitar is to use a transient enhancer<\/strong>. A transient enhancer will add a little volume swell to the beginning of every palm mute or string pluck.
