Raytown Productions Plug-in Privacy Policy
Controller: Raytown Productions, LLC ("Raytown Productions," "we," "us," or "our")
Applies to: Raytown Productions audio plug-ins and related services
Last updated: September 28, 2026
This policy covers Raytown Productions plug-ins and the related licensing, activation, account, update, and support services used with those plug-ins. Our general website and studio-service privacy practices are covered separately, except where a website or transaction service is specifically described here because it interacts with plug-in licensing or purchases.
The short version
Our plug-ins process audio locally on your computer. Normal licensing, account, update, support, and related services may process limited account, device, product, transaction, and technical information as described below. Normal plug-in operation does not upload your audio, DAW projects, or user presets, and we do not use them to train machine-learning or artificial-intelligence models unless you separately and affirmatively agree.
1. What we process, and why
Depending on what you do — start a trial, buy or activate a license, manage your activations, check for updates, or contact us — our services may process:
- Account and contact information, such as your email address — to identify your account, send your license information and verification codes, and send the messages described in Section 6.
- License and entitlement information, such as your license key, the products you own, and license status — to verify purchases and administer licenses.
- Product and version information — so we respond for the right product and version.
- Pseudonymous device or installation identifiers — values derived from your computer so a license can count and recognize its activations. They are pseudonymous, not anonymous.
- Device and operating-system information, such as the device name and operating system — so you can recognize and manage your activated computers. Your device name is processed as you set it; if it contains your name, we receive it.
- Activation, trial, and account status, including when an activation was last confirmed — to administer licenses and trials.
- Consent and preference records, such as whether and when you joined our mailing list, which version of the consent wording you were shown, and any later unsubscribe or advertising opt-out.
- Transaction information — see Section 5.
- Timestamps and security signals, such as your computer's clock compared with ours — to prevent trial abuse, fraud, and security problems.
- Support information you provide — see Section 4.
- Network and server metadata, such as IP address and request times — as with any internet service, to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot our services.
Our account and licensing tools may use your contact information and security or verification steps to confirm your identity before showing account details or making changes to a license.
Information needed to provide a service. Some information is necessary to provide a requested trial, purchase, account, license, activation, or support function. If you choose not to provide information required for a particular function, we may be unable to provide that function.
2. Your audio, projects, and presets
Normal local audio processing does not send your audio anywhere. Licensing, activation, and ordinary update checking do not upload your audio, DAW projects, or user presets. We do not use your audio, projects, or user presets to train machine-learning or artificial-intelligence models unless you separately and affirmatively agree to such use.
If you choose to send us audio or files — for example, with a support request — we use them to help you. If we ever offer an optional feature that intentionally sends content off your computer, it will come with its own disclosures and any consent the law requires.
3. Checking for updates
Update services may process product, version, operating-system, and limited technical information reasonably necessary to determine whether updates or related notices (such as current promotions) are available. Update requests do not intentionally include account or license identifiers unless needed for the requested function. As with ordinary internet communications, network and server metadata may also be processed.
4. Support and diagnostics
Our support and diagnostic functions do not intentionally upload your audio or project files unless you choose to provide them. Where appropriate, you can review what will be submitted, or we tell you, before it is sent. Diagnostic information may include the product and version, your operating system, your license state, your account or contact information, logs, and other technical information relevant to your request.
5. Payments
Purchases may be processed by an authorized merchant of record, payment provider, processor, reseller, or other transaction provider, under its own terms and privacy practices. When payment-card details are handled entirely by a third-party payment provider, Raytown Productions does not receive or store your full payment-card number or card security code. We may receive limited transaction, payment, tax, fraud-prevention, refund, and purchase information reasonably necessary to administer purchases and licenses.
6. Emails: service and marketing
Service messages are sent when reasonably necessary to administer a transaction, account, license, security matter, or service you requested — for example verification codes, license details, security notices, transaction information, account changes, and support replies.
Marketing messages include mixing tips and tutorials, product news, offers and discounts, and announcements of other products.
Trial emails. When you start a free trial, we send you a short series of emails about it. Some of them are promotional, for example an offer on the full version or a request for feedback, and you receive them whether or not you tick the mailing-list box on the trial form. Every promotional email includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops the rest of the series and all our other marketing emails.
The mailing-list box. Ticking the box on the trial form records that you asked to receive our mixing tips, promos, and freebies, and when you did.
We honor unsubscribe requests and other opt-out rights. Unsubscribing from marketing never affects a legitimate trial or paid license.
7. Advertising and conversion measurement
We may use limited conversion or transaction-event information to measure whether our advertising or promotional campaigns led to events such as downloads, trials, purchases, or refunds. This information may include a pseudonymous contact identifier (such as a hashed email address), an advertising or click identifier, the event type, and limited transaction information such as an order amount. Hashing does not make personal information anonymous. Audio, project files, license keys, and machine-level licensing information are not provided for this purpose.
Where applicable law requires consent, we perform this processing only with that consent. Where applicable law gives you a right to opt out, we honor applicable opt-out requests and legally required opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control where required. You can also contact us about your privacy choices (Section 17). Advertising and measurement providers may also process information under their own terms and privacy practices, depending on their role in the processing.
Raytown Productions does not sell personal information for money. Some privacy laws use terms such as "sale," "sharing," or "targeted advertising" more broadly and may treat certain advertising or measurement disclosures as covered activities. Where those laws apply, we provide and honor the required rights and opt-outs.
8. Who we share information with
We share information only as needed for the purposes in this policy, with:
- transaction and payment providers;
- cloud hosting and infrastructure providers;
- email and communications providers;
- licensing and account infrastructure providers;
- content-delivery and network providers;
- support and security providers; and
- analytics and advertising-measurement providers, where used and legally permitted (Section 7).
We may also disclose information at your direction; where reasonably necessary to prevent fraud or security abuse; to our professional and legal advisers; when required by law, legal process, or a governmental request; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of relevant business assets, subject to applicable law.
9. Information stored on your computer
The Software may store licensing, activation, trial, preference, preset, configuration, and diagnostic information on your computer. Deleting these local files does not necessarily release an activation on our side; use the deactivation tools or procedures we provide. Support documentation describes where these files live, if you need them for troubleshooting.
10. Legal bases
Where the GDPR or similar law applies, we rely, as appropriate, on:
- performance of a contract, or steps you request before entering one — for example providing or activating a trial or paid license;
- legitimate interests — such as security, fraud and abuse prevention, license administration, customer support, maintaining reliable services, promoting our products (including the trial emails described in Section 6), and protecting legal rights — where those interests are not overridden by your rights;
- consent — such as the mailing-list box on the trial form, or advertising and measurement processing where consent is required; and
- compliance with legal obligations — such as tax and accounting records or lawful requests.
11. How long we keep it
- License and account records: as long as needed to administer your license or account and to meet legal obligations.
- Transaction and business records: as required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, disputes, and other legal obligations.
- Activation, trial, and security records: as reasonably necessary to administer licensing, enforce trial eligibility, prevent abuse, and protect security.
- Marketing subscriptions: while you are subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we may keep a minimal suppression record so your opt-out continues to be honored.
- Operational and security logs: for a limited period appropriate to their purpose, unless longer retention is reasonably necessary for a security investigation, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.
12. Your rights
Where applicable law provides them, you may have the right to:
- confirm whether we process your information, and access it;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- receive a portable copy (export);
- restrict or object to processing;
- withdraw consent;
- opt out of covered advertising, "sale," or "sharing";
- complain to a privacy or data-protection authority; and
- appeal a denied request, where applicable law provides an appeal right.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn, and does not affect processing that relies on another lawful basis.
Requests are subject to applicable exceptions and to verification of your identity — usually by replying from the email address on your license. We may keep limited information where reasonably necessary to maintain a license or transaction record, comply with law, prevent fraud or abuse, resolve disputes, maintain security, or honor an unsubscribe or privacy opt-out.
To make a request, contact us (Section 17). We will respond within the period required by applicable law and, where no specific period applies, within a reasonable time. If applicable law gives you a right to appeal our decision on a privacy request, you may appeal by replying to our response or contacting us using the information below.
13. International transfers
Raytown Productions is based in the United States, and we and our service providers may process information in the United States or other countries. Where international-transfer laws require safeguards, we use a lawful transfer mechanism appropriate to the transfer, such as an applicable adequacy decision or framework, standard contractual clauses and any required addendum, or another safeguard recognized by applicable law.
14. Children
Our Software is not directed to children as defined by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information in circumstances where parental authorization or another legal requirement has not been satisfied. If we learn that we collected such information unlawfully, we will delete or otherwise handle it as required by law.
15. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we process — for example, encrypted connections to our services and signed licensing information. No system is perfectly secure. Normal plug-in operation does not send your audio to us.
16. Changes
We may update this policy as our products, services, providers, or legal obligations change. The current version and its effective date will be posted on our website. Where applicable law requires additional notice or consent for a change, we will provide it.
