Why the plugin could not reach licensing.raytownproductions.com, and how to let your DAW through.

All plugins Updated 2026-09-29

What the plugin needs

Activation, restore and the background check-in (about once a month when the computer is online) talk to https://licensing.raytownproductions.com over HTTPS (port 443). Nothing else. A paid license does not need the check-in: once activated, the plugin keeps working offline indefinitely, and day-to-day use never needs the network. The one exception is Clarity Delay 1.1.x, which must check in about once a month or it deactivates; going online on the same computer restores it for another 30 days. Update to Clarity Delay 1.2.0 to remove that; see The plugin says "Not activated".

Error 1201: can't reach the server

The request got no answer at all.

  • Check that the computer is online at all (open any website).
  • Firewall: the DAW is the program making the request, not the plugin. Allow your DAW (Logic, Live, Pro Tools, Cubase, Reaper...) through Windows Defender Firewall or your third-party firewall.
  • Studio machines with no internet: activate on a connected machine? No - the seat belongs to the machine that activates. Connect the studio machine briefly, activate, and disconnect; it keeps working offline.

Error 1203: secure connection failed

The connection was made but the certificate check failed.

  • Check the date and time on this computer. A clock that is years off fails every HTTPS connection.
  • Corporate or school proxies that inspect HTTPS traffic break the check. Try from outside the proxy, or ask IT to allow licensing.raytownproductions.com.
  • A very old operating system may lack current root certificates. Install OS updates.

Error 1301: unexpected server reply

Hotel and airport Wi-Fi often shows a sign-in page instead of the site you asked for. Open a browser, complete the network's sign-in page, then try again.

Error 1202: timed out

A slow or flaky connection. Wait a minute and try again. If it keeps happening from a stable connection, email dsp@raytownproductions.com with the time it happened.
