Licensing and activation

How trials work

When a 14-day trial starts counting, why it stays on the computers you start it on, and what happens when it ends.

Starting a trial

On the plugin's license page, choose the free trial and enter your email. A 6-digit code arrives by email; enter it within 10 minutes and the trial activates.

The countdown starts when you activate. Once activated you have 14 days with everything unlocked. Downloading or installing the plugin does not start it. Each person gets one trial per plugin.

If it says a trial was already used for that email (error 4102), keep using it on the computer where you started it, or buy the plugin. Restore cannot bring back a trial.

During the trial

The trial is the full plugin with two differences: it ends, and its seats are locked. A trial runs on up to three computers, and each seat stays with the computer you started it on (error 4103). Trial seats cannot be deactivated or moved until the trial ends; a bought license can.

A trial works offline until its 14 days are up. When you're online it checks in about once a day, but it never needs to.

The plugin also checks that your computer's clock has not been set back (error 3105). Turn on automatic date and time if you see that.

When it ends

The plugin shows "Trial expired" (error 4101). Clarity Delay bypasses its audio. Your presets and settings are kept.

Buy with the same email you used for the trial and the trial upgrades to the full license automatically; the plugin switches over on its own the next time it is online. If it asks for a key, use the one from your purchase email; the trial key stops working once you buy (error 2104).
