A great starting point is to add a short slap back delay to add presence and thickness to an intimate vocal without the need for complex routing. Try using the Analog Delay mode in TIME mode under 100 ms. Aim for 2-3 echoes that give the vocal a “fluttering” sound by reducing feedback. Then adjust volume knob to taste. Bonus: for a cool analog vibe with some character, dial up the THD knob to add some tape saturation!

In channel two, try syncing Clarity Delay to a quarter note to create rhythmic energy that locks perfectly to the track’s tempo. This will give the vocals length and help them carry on during breaks, enhancing the song’s groove without clutter. Then to soften the delays and help it gel into the mix, dial up a little “SPACE” effect to add a lush, 3D width without smearing the clarity of the vocals.

Finally, on channel three, try the ping-pong delay mode, but keep the effect fast! Experiment with 16th or 32nd note lengths.
